How we’re future proofing our business

We’ve all seen examples of the inventive ways people are keeping busy during lockdown, from baking to gardening to learning a language. We’re also completely blown away by the heroics of Captain Tom Moore who is still walking laps of his garden despite already raising over £25m for the NHS.

While we can’t claim to have done anything nearly as heroic, here at Sutherland Independent, we have been using the time to plan for the future, reflect on the business, and explore new ways of investing in it.

In particular we’ve realised, as everyone has, how much we rely on technology, and this has inspired us to think about how we can harness its potential to improve our processes, our document delivery and our communications with you.

So aside from our business as usual activity, we’re working on improving the way we send and store important documents securely.

We’ll tell you more about this as we develop this further, but in the future, you’ll find it much easier to share your information, store and track important paperwork, and view personal financial details at a glance, such as your total net worth.

You’ll also be able to provide electronic signatures rather than wet signatures, which will save a lot of time and frustration.

This investment will help to strengthen our business both now and beyond the current crisis.

And once the pandemic subsides and ‘normality’ resumes, we’ll also be asking how you’d prefer us to communicate with you going forward – for example, whether you’d prefer to go back to meeting face-to-face, or to continue to ‘meet’ us online.

Let us know if you have any questions.
